Proper construction of basket suspension cables takes skill, patience, and practice. Sloppy seams on an envelope can be relatively forgiving. Sloppy crimping of cables can be life-threatening.

Unless you are VERY experienced at working with aircraft-grade cable assemblies, we strongly recommend that for your first project you give the diagram linked below to an FAA certified aircraft mechanic or balloon repair person and have them make the cables for you.

There is no dishonor in having your cables made by a pro. Many experienced envelope builders have never made their own cables.

That said, the design of the suspension cables is fairly straightforward. The layout for the cables necessary to make a 4-point connection to a bottom-end is here.
